Bbetween is a journal published by the Billy Blue Group for their college of design, exploring and promoting the notion of ‘applied’ education in design and its function within business. We were asked to contribute an essay for an issue based on the idea of ‘demonstrating the value of design’, in our case, design language. As well as the requested essay piece, we felt that being primarily visual communicators it would be most appropriate to represent the research we undertook on this subject in a visual way, creating a series of infographics on the Australian graphic design industry’s use of language to define who we are and what we do. The results were both surprising and a little scary.
