Katherine recently gave a guest lecture as part of the UTS Contexts of Visual Communication subject, based on the de Luxe approach to applied Design Thinking.

Aside from answering the obvious questions of what the terms 'Contexts of Visual Communication' and 'Design Thinking' actually mean, the lecture aimed to give aspiring designers an insight into how to make the most of their thinking and design process to arrive at a great result.

Using the example of de Luxe's recent redesign of the Weekend Herald (NZ), Katherine demonstrated how design thinking, strategy and outcome can be used together to not only address a client brief, but fulfill their deeper needs.
