A rare event in this day and age, a growing newspaper market. We were commissioned to develop the Jakarta Globe from square one. Our brief was to provide an English language daily that would appeal to the growing middle and business class in Indonesia. A newspaper that would contribute to the growth and values of Indonesian society.
We worked with a team of consultants to build a contemporary broadsheet that carried the feeling of being a well-established part of the culture. Most radically, because this newspaper had no ingrained traditions, we were able to build the workforce and the workflows around a contemporary approach to technology, rather than the old ‘lead-type’ approach.
