







The esteemed South China Morning Post had been through numerous changes that had incrementally made the paper feel more and more out of touch with its readers. The newspaper needed to reassert its authority and relevance to the region.
We worked closely with the senior editors to completely rebuild the newspaper’s typography and approach to visualising the news. Working with New York type designer Christian Schwartz we refined an exclusive version of a headline typeface. We also built into the system a whole range of tools that would allow the subeditors to add infographic material and story-telling variety to their pages. The ‘path of least resistance’ for page designers was now the right path!
