







Take a smattering of irregular, inserted publications and turn them into a focussed, high-quality series that would build a brand and appeal to the highest demographic readership.
We built a design structure that articulated and complemented the editorial strategy and brought the magazines into a family feel. Our approach to layout was to create a simple, clean and modern look that could champion the words and images. The greatest gains in quality were the result of working with the staff of the magazines to improve their internal communication and greatly raise their expectations, both of themselves and their contributors.
I am so proud to be associated with James De Vries and the de Luxe team. I handed them a motley group of lifestyle magazines with a simple brief: I wanted to be able to sell them to advertisers as a connected set of titles targeting an AB demographic. I was delivered a design solution that resulted in increased advertising outcomes. The result was stunning.
