Our brief was to work with many existing elements and to organise the diverse strands of typography, photography and editorial direction that comprised the design of this small newspaper. After years of upheaval, the last thing the publisher wanted was to look like another ‘relaunch’ was taking place.
De Luxe worked closely with the editorial team over a number of site visits to refine The Standard’s existing font list and design a firm logic that would make the newspaper a more reader-friendly product. Together we devised processes to help the team ensure a much higher base-level of quality, and to believe that they could produce a great newspaper.
